A FedEx delivery person required medical attention Friday afternoon after being bitten by a standard poodle at a Saunders Settlement Road home.
According to the report, the complainant stated that while he was delivering a package to 4952 Saunders Settlement Road, Lockport, the resident's dog ran out of the home and bit him. Patrol was shown the complainnt's left hand which had a wound that appeared to be consistent with a dog bite.
The homeowner, who had witnessed the attack, was asked by Niagara County Sheriff's deputies if the dog had bitten anyone before, to which she replied "he bites." She said the dog, named Shadow, was up to date on all his shots but she didn't have the paperwork available.
Patrol filled out the appropriate animal bite paperwork and forwarded that to the Niagara County Department of Health.
The driver informed his employer of the incident and said he would seek medical attention for the wound at a facility near his home.
