Light Up Lockport's Christmastime in the City was this afternoon and hundreds of families made it to downtown Lockport for the festivities.

Thanks to Heather N. Grimmer for the photos.

Mrs. Claus read books for a story time held at Papa Leo's, while children were provided a free slice of pizza.
Kids enjoy story time with Mrs. Claus at Papa Leo's.

The Lakeview Sanctuary participated in Light Up Lockport's Christmastime in the City again this year with their petting zoo. Headlining again this year was Thomas T Butterball the turkey, and the famous crew of lamas and goats.

Each year, Light Up Lockport's Christmastime in the City offers a chance to have pictures taken with Santa. Volunteers take Polaroid pictures of children with Santa for parents to immediately take home.  In addition parents are welcomed to bring their own cameras for pictures, as this mom is doing here

Frosty and Rudolph say "Hi!"

Clowning around, a clown made balloon animals for boys and girls waiting to see Santa.

Melissa Junke of Lockport Youth and Recreation, along with her youth and rec volunteers offered face painting.  Here a volunteer paints a holiday picture on a little girl.
Lockport Library offered crafts for kids during this years Christmastime In The City. Fred Emerson made several crafts including a banner and a wreath.
This year's Christmastime in The City offered several activities for youth to participate in, like cookie decorating.
Luey Castro had a chance to tell Santa exactly what he wanted for Christmas this year.
This year's Christmastime in The City offered several activities for youth to participate in, like cookie decorating. This little girl taste tests as she decorates her cookie.
Some kids decorated just fine on their own, like the ones on the left. Others needed an extra hand or two.
Wonder how long that cookie survived after being decorated. We're guessing not long.
Lots of kids took advantage of the face painting at City Hall.
Santa took time out to listen to all of the kids who came to visit him this year.
