A City of Lockport man told Niagara County Sheriff's deputies Monday night that he had a strange encounter with a couple at the Rite Aid on Lincoln Avenue in the Town of Lockport.

According to the police report, the man said he was backing out of his space at the drug store at about 9:30 p.m. when the pair, a male and a female, suddenly appeared demanding $50 because they say he had hit the male with his car and he would need the money for his medical copay.

The complainant said that he hadn't felt or heard his car hit anything and if he had hit the male, there's "no way that the two could have gotten to the front of his vehicle as quickly as they did if they were ever behind his as he was backing up," according to the report.

The male was described as white, approximately 27 years old, dark hair, unshaven, approximately 5-foot 7-inches tall and 160 pounds wearing a gray hoodie  and "walking with what appeared to be an over exaggerated limp." The female was described as: white, approximately 24 years old, thin build, smoking a cigarette.

When the complainant told the man he didn't have $50, the man said he'd accept $10.

The complainant said he went into the store to report the incident and the pair were gone when he returned outside.
