ENP STAFF REPORTS

Cub Scouts Pack 71 will be popping around the Lockport area with tasty kernels of popcorn for sale through Oct. 28.

The pack, led by John Maier, is hoping to raise money to help support pack activities.

They may knock at your door, drop into your place of work, or you may see them stationed in front of your favorite store. Saturday, they'll be at Valu Home Center from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. It will be their third time stationed at Valu this year. They've also sold in front of Walmart twice this year, and Maier said they'll have other dates in the future.

Orders can also be placed online at trails-end.com.

Asked why they do it, Maier explained:
A Scout is thrifty. A Scout works to pay his way and to help others. He saves for unforeseen needs.

This is just one method that we use to help the Scouts learn this lesson.

A Scout is cheerful.A Scout looks for the bright side of things. He cheerfully does tasks that come his way.

We teach the Scouts to have a positive attitude at all times.
