New ENP Columnist Norb Rug poses for a photo in the East Niagara
Post office. (HEATHER GRIMMER / ENP PHOTOGRAPHER)
A new dining review column will make its debut Wednesday on East Niagara Post.

The column, "Lovin' Spoonful," will be penned by Lockport resident Norb Rug, a self-described "semi-retired Lockport resident who has seen a lot of life from the wild 60s where he was a member of a motorcycle 'club' and slept on the cliffs of La Jolla, Ca. to the beach at Coral Beach, Fla."

The Vietnam-era veteran, who has thrice beaten cancer in the past seven years, is currently an OSHA certified General Industry Outreach Trainer and works as the Safety Director at a local company.

He has been married to Donna, who he refers to as "the love of his life" since 1969 and is the proud father of three children who have given him six grandchildren.

Norb and Donna love dining out and trying new restaurants, perfect for a dining out columist. He is constantly expanding his palate with new foods like sushi, venison, buffalo, ostrich, rattlesnake, chocolate covered crickets, goat, kangaroo, elk, meal worms, all kinds of seafood and anything that comes down the pike.

His motto is "almost everything is food somewhere and everything you eat was new to you at one time."

Norb authors a food blog and also posts under the banner “Norb has opinions on everything” on his personal Facebook page. Norb will always give an honest opinion on restaurants he visits, posting about the good, the bad and the ugly.

His column, "Lovin' Spoonful," will run every other Wednesday morning on ENP.
