A new lift installed at the Kenan Arena will be unveiled Friday with a ribbon cutting slated for 5:30 p.m.
The lift, which will take patrons from the first floor to the second floor, was added for easy access for patrons of Revolution Fitness & Training Center who have difficultly climbing the arena's stairs. One has not existed in the building since it first opened in 1968.
On hand for the official ribbon-cutting will be Revolution owner, Gina Nowak, Tim Mulvey of Mulvey Construction, a representative from Wesley elevator, and members of the Kenan Center Board of Governors.
The lift is the newest addition to the Arena which included renovation of the Arena Annex begun in 2010 which added an additional 5,800 square feet of recreation space, and new soccer turf and goals that were unveiled in 2011.
