ENP STAFF REPORTS

ALBANY -- Six new organizations have announced their support for the Minimum Wage Reality Check campaign. These new supporters, along with the original coalition of 26 business and taxpayer organizations, are strongly opposed to the proposed minimum wage increase to $15 per hour.
The six organizations include the Rome Area Chamber of Commerce, Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce Cortland County Chamber of Commerce, Genesee County Chamber of Commerce, New York State Liquor Store Association and Independent Oil and Gas Association of New York.
“On behalf of my organization and the other supporters of the Minimum Wage Reality Check campaign, we're incredibly grateful that these six organizations have joined our efforts," said Mike Durant, state director of the National Federation of Independent Business. "We're also thankful for the hardworking small business owners who have shared their impact stories with us and encourage others to do the same. Albany's leaders must listen to these important voices and understand that small businesses, farms, taxpayers and consumer simply can't afford a $15 minimum wage.”
