As of this afternoon, New York Beer Project now sells its
own brews. (CONTRIBUTED PHOTO)
TOWN OF LOCKPORT -- Lockport's first brewery in over 100 years now has locally brewed beer flowing through its taps.

New York Beer Project, 6933 South Transit Road, had a late opening today, preparing for the switch from "guest taps" to NYBP Taps.

Following a 4 p.m. NYBP Mug Club Members reception, the brewery and restaurant opened its doors at 5 p.m. to the Craft Beer Lovers of America (and everyone else) with brewmasters Jared Lewinski and Jason Crossett introducing the brewery's lineup.

The beers introduced today include:

  • Lockport Lager
  • Destination India Pale Ale
  • Train of Thought Amber
  • Chocolate Milk Stout
  • Huckleberry Wheat

The brewery will also feature live music at 7 p.m., followed by "a night of festivities and wonderful beer."

In preparation for the grand opening and tap switch-over, the brewery offered $3 tap beers all day Tuesday to deplete the "guest tap" stock.

New York Beer Project is open at 11 a.m. - 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to midnight Fridays and Saturdays.
