TOWN OF LOCKPORT -- A 37-year-old Lockport woman was charged Sunday with petit larceny and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, accused of shoplifting from Walmart and having prescription drugs that weren't hers.
According to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, Billie Jo Cassenti, 54 Levan Ave., had hidden approximately $100 worth of "miscellaneous durex sex toys and candles" in her purse and attempted to leave the store but was detained by store security.
When patrol arrived, they found there was also a prescription bottle in the purse, containing multiple types of pills which weren't prescribed to Cassenti, who the report states "appeared to be impaired by drugs."
Cassenti was remanded to the Niagara County Jail in lieu of $250 police bail. She is scheduled to appear at the Town of Lockport Court on Tuesday. The pills were turned over to property management. "
