NEW YORK -- Lockport Express netminder Sal Stalteri stopped 47 of 49 New York Aviator shots on Saturday, while the Express peppered New York's Stephen Mundinger with 55 shots, three of which went in. Lockport added an empty netter for the 4-2 win.
Kurt Villani started the scoring for the Express at 16:28 of the first period, assisted by John Gannon.
New York's Jimmy Warrick tied the game just 13 seconds into the second period, assisted by Daniel Backstrom. Justin Andriaccio put the Express back on top at 5:47, assisted by Andrew Logar. The Aviators tied it again at 11:49 on a Sam Shaheen goal, assisted by Gunther Stange.
Ryan Logar made it 3-2 with a goal 1:18 into the third period, assisted by Christopher Gasiewicz. Jordan Pocobello added the empty netter at 18:42 to seal the deal.
Lockport, 13-13-4 is in fourth place in the NA3EHL West with 30 points, two points behind the Roc City Royals.
Lockport and New York face off again at 12:20 p.m. The Express then have more than two weeks to prepare for their next game on Jan. 28 -- part of the league showcase at Cornerstone CFCU Arena from Jan 28. - Jan. 31.
