PENDLETON -- A 19-year-old man was charged early New Year's Day with driving while intoxicated with minors in the vehicle -- a violation of Leandra's Law -- and endangering the welfare of a child.
According to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, Trevor M. Kureczka was stopped on Lockport Road around 12:38 a.m. after police received a call from a motorist reporting a reckless driver on South Transit Road.
With Kureczka in the vehicle were eight passengers, ranging in age from 15 to 20 years old. Two of the occupants were 15 years of age, which resulted in two separate counts of Leandra's Law violations.
