ENP STAFF REPORTS

DETROIT -- A pair of goals late in the third period gave the Buffalo Sabres a 2-1 victory of the Detroit Red Wings tonight at Joe Louis Arena.
The Sabres were held scoreless until 15:46 of the third when Ryan O'Reilly scored his team-leading 11th goal of the season -- a tip-in from Sam Reinhart and Rasmus Ristolainen. Johan Larsson scored the Sabres second goal at 16;47 of the third, a wrist shot assisted by Mike Weber.
The pair of late goals was enough to overcome a Brad Richards' goal for Detroit at 4:01 of the second. Pavel Datsu and Darren Helm assisted on the snap shot, the Wings only goal of the game -- despite taking 33 shots against Sabres netminder Chad Johnson.
The win is the Sabres second in a row after losing the previous three. The team now has a record of 13-15-3.
The Sabres play the New Jersey Devils Tuesday night at First Niagara Center.
