ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
Lockside Art Center is hosting a special glass exposition.
"Evolution, Growth, Rebirth, a study in glass of 4 women of a certain age," will be presented Tuesday through Jan 3. by Catherine O'Connor from ArtFXGlass.
An opening for the exhibit will be held from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Lockside Art Center, 21-41 Main St., suite 208.
This body of work was funded by an ASI, Arts Services Initiative of Western NY, individual artist grant.
"I gathered pictures of important events and people in three other women's lives, manipulated them, printed and fired on glass, I selected several of the most important moments and photo morphed them into a centerpiece for each of the women," O'Connor said. "I have included Sue Neidlinger from Newfane, Elsie Soboleski from Hamburg, Shaun Silverwood from Getzville, and myself. This exercise allowed me to think about my own evolution as I reached my 60th year. I included my own important events and people in my study."
Lockside Art Center is open noon to 4 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, as well as by appointment.
