BOSTON -- Buffalo Sabres rookie sensation Jack Eichel led the Buffalo Sabres over the Boston Bruins Saturday by a score of 6-3, netting a pair of goals and two assists in the effort.
Buffalo got on the board first with an Evander Kane goal at 5:13 of the second period, assisted by Tyler Ennis and Eichel but required a third-period comeback after falling behind 3-1. Matt Beleskey, Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci scored for the Bruins.
Ryan O'Reilly brought the Sabres to within a goal at 10:21 of the third period, assisted by Mike Weber and Cody Franson. Eichel tied it at 3 at 11:00, assisted by Jake McCabe. Jame McGinn gave the Sabres the lead at 14:24, assisted by O'Reilly and Zach Bogosian. Then Eichel scored an empty netter at 18:42, followed by another empty netter at 19:10, this one by O'Reilly. Eichel and McGinn assisted on the final goal.
The Sabres, now 15-16-4, play the Washington Capitals Monday night in Buffalo with a chance to get to the .500 mark for the first time in over a month.
