ROYALTON -- A 32-year-old Lockport man was charged Tuesday with assaulting a child following an investigation by New York State Police.
According to NYSP, Samuel A. Figueroa was involved in two separate incidents -- the first on Aug. 9 and the second on Oct. 22 -- in which he injured a 22-month old child. Figueroa admitted to police that he kicked the child while caring for it at his girlfriend's residence, according to the police report. Figueroa also injured the child's ribs after disciplining the child. The child sustained broken ribs and other internal injuries due to these incidents, which occurred in Royalton.
Figueroa was arraigned in the Town of Lockport Court and remanded to Niagara County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail. He is scheduled to return to the Town of Royalton Court on Dec. 3.
