TOWN OF LOCKPORT -- A Parkwood Drive couple returned from a six-day trip to Florida to find that someone had cleaned them out of cash and jewelry while they were gone.
The male told Niagara County Sheriff's deputies that upon returning home he walked into the bedroom and noticed one of his wife's gold necklaces laying on the carpet next to the bed. He stated that he and his wife discovered that several pieces of jewelry and $955.00 in cash were stolen from the bedroom.
Patrol observed that several pieces of jewelry were left behind by the suspect. Patrol did not find any signs of forced entry on any doors or windows. The couple's niece was watching the house while they were gone, but they do not suspect she stole the items.
The case was forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Bureau.
