ENP STAFF REPORTS

The yellow indicates 60 mph wind gusts and the purple in the lake denotes
gale warnings. (COURTESY OF NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE)
The National Weather service in Buffalo is predicting "a once in a 10-20-year storm system (based on mid-November climatology) will push northeast across the Upper Great Lakes today before making its way across Eastern Canada tonight and Friday."

The weather service says the "cyclone will generate strong to potentially damaging winds across our region in the process, with the highest winds expected late today and tonight."

The included map from NWS highlights areas where winds could gust to 60 mph (yellow...high wind warnings), with lesser gusts forecast in the brown areas (wind advisories). The purple shading denotes gale warnings on Lakes Erie and Ontario.

  1. I'm in Akron, boy something just whipped through here about 1/2 hr. ago ( !:30pm) heavy rain and a lot of wind. It's still windy but has calmed a lot now.
