MACHIAS -- A 47-year-old Lockport man was killed Sunday in a crash after the motorcycle he was riding struck a vehicle that did not stop for an intersection.
According to New York State Police, Larry Choops was pronounced dead at Olean General Hospital following the crash, which included himself and a second motorcyclist -- 67-year-old James Fink of Gasport -- crashing into the car driven by Laura Howard-Raska of Snyder.
Choops and Fink were both ejected from their bikes as a result of the crash, which occurred at the intersection of Bakerstand Road and Route 242. Fink was treated for injuries and released.
Howard-Radka was ticketed for speeding, failure to stop for a stop sign, and failure to yield the right of way.
