Florence V. Tomczak of Lockport, NY passed away on Monday October 26, 2015 in Newfane Rehab & HCF.
Born on October 15, 1922 in Buffalo, she was the daughter of Francis and Josephine Nowacki Waclawek. Florence was a WWII Navy WAVE veteran. Stationed in Clearfield, Utah, her group were the first women to be housed in barracks. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed reading, crocheting and knitting.
Predeceased by her husband, Richard P. Tomczak; son, Paul F. Tomczak and siblings, Frank (Betty) Waclawek and Mildred (late Casey) Krempa. Florence is survived by her son, Donald M. (Shari) of Lockport; grandchildren, Danielle and Ian Tomczak; daughter-in-law, Angela Tomczak and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and relative are invited to a Memorial Mass on Friday at 10:00 AM at St. John the Baptist RC Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport, NY. Interment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. John’s Outreach.
