LPD Det. Kevin Schrader interviews Carpenter, who was said to be hiding
behind the 7-Eleven along with his bike.
A Carolina Avenue man was charged Monday evening with petit larceny, accused of stealing a bottle of Dom Perignon from Walnut Street Liquors and fleeing on his bike.

Charles Carpenter, 58, 127 Carolina Ave., was subdued by Lockport police near South Transit and High streets, according to eyewitnesses, who say he tried to hide himself and his getaway bike behind the 7-Eleven at 95 S. Transit St.

Carpenter's bike was secured and transported to LPD along with the rider.

The champagne was valued at $169.99
