Elizabeth S. Licata of Lockport, entered into rest on September 5, 2015.
Born on March 3, 1928 in Lockport, she was the daughter of the late John and Blanche (nee Gephart) Spedding, Jr. Elizabeth graduated from Lockport Senior High School in 1945 and also graduated from Buffalo General Hospital Nursing School in 1950. Elizabeth worked at Buffalo General Hospital until 1955 and also worked at Lockport Memorial Hospital for several years. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, the Buffalo General Hospital Alumni Association and the Lockport Dale Association Center. She married Salvatore P. "Alabama" Licata on September 5, 1955.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Dr. Betty Jo Licata (Jack Monda) of Ohio; and her son, Joseph A. Licata of Indiana; grandmother of Joseph Dominic Monda, Jack Salvatore Monda and Mary Elizabeth Monda; sister of James (Helen) Spedding of Lockport, Mary (late John) DeFilippo of Lockport and the late John (Jacqueline) Spedding III. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Monday from 2-5 PM at TAYLOR & REYNOLDS FUNERAL HOME, Transit at Niagara Streets. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at All Saints Oratory (St. Joseph's Church), 391 Market St., on Tuesday morning at 9:30 AM. (Please assemble at church). Arrangements by Provenzano Memorial Chapel, Mark C. Provenzano, Director.
