ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
NIAGARA FALLS — Hazmat teams from Niagara County the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station were called to Third Street this morning for a report of a suspicious package.
Officials say an envelope with a suspicious substance was found at a Third Street building, causing the emergency response shortly after 11 a.m. It was believed that several people were exposed to whatever the substance was.
The Hazmat teams did a preliminary check of the substance and believes it to be nothing more than crushed up medication, official say.
Memorial Medical Center in the Falls was on standby but was told that they can stand down as no rush to the hospital is expected over the matter.
