The Niagara County Health Department will hold a mass medicine dispensing exercise from 1-3 p.m. Tuesday at the Kenan Center.
This mass dispensing exercise, which is open to the public, is designed to test the health department's ability mass dispense simulated medications in the form of M&Ms. During the emergency anthrax antibiotic dispensing drill, attendees can meet an FBI special agent, a Niagara County Sheriff's Office criminal investigator, public officials and emergency preparedness representatives from New York State Department of Health.
Participants are asked to pre-register all household members that they will be picking up simulated medications for, who cannot physically present at the exercise. As of 7 p.m., there were more than 300 registrations spots still available.
All participants who come to the mass dispensing exercise will receive a free ice cream cup donated by TOPS Friendly Markets.
