ENP STAFF REPORTS

A pair of East Avenue residents who police say refused to turn down their music or answer the door early Monday morning found themselves facing charges Monday evening.

Tenaille A. Staten, 35, and Samantha A. McGirr, 19, both of 374 East Ave., Apt. 4, were charged around 7:44 p.m. with a noise violation, aka "loud music."

According to the LPD police report, patrol was called to the apartment around 4 a.m. Monday and asked the pair to turn the music down. Patrol responded back to the same location just a few minutes later because "patrol could again hear loud music coming from apartment 4."

After several attempts of making contact with the residents, Staten came to the window and patrol asked him to open the door, along with McGirr.

"Staten stated to patrol that he was not going to turn the music down or open the door without a warrant," the report says. "Patrol advised him that paperwork for him and McGirr would be filed for a noise violation."

The pair were charged around 7:44 p.m. "without incident."
