Cornerstone Community Federal Credit Union announced its award of scholarships to 10 high school student members of the credit union in the amount of $350 each.
The Credit Union Scholarship Program, organized through the New York Credit Union Association (NYCUA), awards scholarships based on individual student grades, participation in extracurricular activities, test scores and an essay submission.
“We had so many great applicants this year and are pleased to award these scholarships to our hard-working young members,” said Suzanne English, of Cornerstone CFCU. “We are also proud to announce that along with the awards handed out today, one of our students placed in the top 5 applicants for the Erie/Niagara Chapter.”
Cornerstone CFCU’s 2015 scholarship recipients are: Caroline Connolly of Newfane, Elizabeth Faxlanger of Lockport, Elijah Haley of Middleport, Lauren Isherwood of Lockport, Tyler Kugler of Middleport, Austin McFall of Lockport, Trevor Noon of Burt, Hannah Rausch of Middleport, Stephen Craig of North Tonawanda, and Adam Murray of Ransomville.
Over 1,700 students statewide applied for CUANY Scholarships, and one of the top applicants is from Cornerstone. Stephen Craig was awarded an additional $250 as a state-level winner.
