ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
The Lockport Police Department has determined that the loud boom heard across the city around 8 p.m. is from a fire in Lewiston.
Residents of various areas of the city claim to have heard the noise with the consensus being that it came from the Lowertown area, where police were concentrating their efforts.
"We ruled out any of the plants down in Lowertown," LPD said around 8:40 p.m., concurring with the county that the sound was from a propane tank explosion at a house fire at 1312 Ridge Road in Lewiston, near Lewiston Town Hall.
