TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A weekend sobriety checkpoint on Route 31 resulted in a pair of DWI arrests and an unlawful possession of marijuana arrests.
The checkpoint, conducted by New York State Police and the Niagara County Sheriff Office, was held Saturday and Sunday.
Charles L. Ketchum, 57 of Sanborn, was charged with driving while intoxicated. He reportedly had a blood alcohol content of .16 percent. He was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Lockport Court on May 18.
Donna Fooks, 55 of Lockport, was arrested by the Niagara County Sheriff Department for driving while intoxicated. She refused to submit to a chemical test. She is scheduled to appear in the Town of Lockport Court tonight.
Branden M. McCormick, 26 of Niagara Falls, was charged with unlawful possession of marihuana after Troopers detected an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. He was issued an appearance ticket and also a uniform traffic ticket for operating a motor vehicle without a valid inspection certificate. Both are returnable to the Town of Lockport Count on May 20.
