John H. "Jay" Baes entered into rest on April 20, 2015. Born on January 31, 1962, he was the son of the late Harold "Red" and Mary E. (Long) Baes, Sr.
Jay worked at Surveys & Analysis of Shrewsbury, MA for 25 years working all over the country. He was an avid bowler recording 15-300 games, 4-800 series, including back to back 300 games and a 847 series at the Tonawanda Bowling Center. He bowled all over WNY, including the Lockport Traveling League and the Allie Brandt Memorial League. Jay was huge Boston Red Sox, Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bills fan and enjoyed golf.
Jay is the beloved father of Lisa (Matt Mazurkiewicz) Baes; cherished grandfather of Brayden John; dear friend of Lucinda Byers; dear sister, Julie (Craig) Austin; longtime companion of Missy Jones; brother of the late Harold "Red" Baes, Jr., James K. Baes and Rebecca Villella. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call from 4-8 PM on Friday at the TAYLOR & REYNOLDS FUNERAL HOME, corner of Transit and Niagara Streets. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at All Saints Parrish, 76 Church St. at 12:00 PM on Saturday. (Please assemble at church). Interment in Cold Springs Cemetery.
