TOWN OF LOCKPORT — Three people and two dogs escaped a house fire at 6030 Crosby Road late Sunday night.
The fire, which began shortly after 10 p.m., ripped through the home, which was deemed a total loss by fire officials.
Rapids Vol. Fire Co. originally responded to the scene around 10:15 p.m. They were assisted by South Lockport and Wendelville fire companies. Wrights Corners and Clarence Center fire companies were put on standby for the fire.
Fire officials reportedly had trouble originally locating the source of the fire but eventually got it under control around 11:45 p.m.
The family is being assisted by the Red Cross.
