The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning for Friday.
The warning will be in effect from 8 a.m. until midnight throughout Western New York including all of East Niagara.
Southwest winds of 25-35 mph are expected with gusts reaching 50-60 mph. Strong winds will bring down a few trees and power lines and will likely result in scattered power outages. Travel in high profile vehicles may be difficult at times.
A high wind warning is issued when sustained winds of 40 mph are expected for at least an hour with gusts of 58 mph or greater at any time.
