ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
NYSEG will be inspecting transmission power lines by helicopter throughout Niagara County beginning today.
Scheduled for the next three days, residents may see a low flying or hovering red and grey helicopter in their area or neighborhood, according to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office.
"These are routine flights that we do on a regular basis," said Dan Hucko, a NYSEG spokesperson. "We look at lines as well as the right of ways and the poles" to see if there's damage.
If there are areas of concern, NYSEG then sends a ground crew to inspect further and correct any issues if necessary.
