ALBANY — Assemblywoman Jane Corwin today said she's encouraged to see that Democratic Assembly leadership will allow the Women's Equality Act to come up for a vote.
The Clarence Republican said she looks forward to being able to vote on the 10-point package when the Assembly returns to session.
Corwin's statement follows below in its entirety.
Today’s news that Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie has agreed to allow the 10-point Women’s Equality Act to come up for a vote as individual bills in the Assembly is very welcome news, especially for the women and children across the state that will benefit from the enactment of these important measures. As a vocal proponent of this plan, and having worked with my colleagues across the aisle for the last few years to achieve this, I am very pleased with this news and look forward to being able to vote on the bills when session reconvenes on Monday.
