BURT — Black Willow Winery’s Classic Diamond takes center stage in a scene from the Academy Award-winning film, "Still Alice."

The film stars Julianne Moore in the role of Alice, a Columbia linguistics professor diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's disease. Julianne Moore has most recently won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of Alice.

During a scene in the movie — about 20 minutes in — a bottle of Black Willow Winery's Classic Diamond can be seen, first on the table while the family eats dinner, then again more prominently.

"Not only is the bottle there, but ... she's actually pouring a glass of wine and you can see the label and everything," said Cynthia West-Chamberlain of Black Willow Winery.

She said the winery had sent some bottles to production companies by their request "quite a while ago" and then were informed in December of their placement in "Still Alice." Black Willow Winery wines were also featured recently in the hit TV show Nashville "in a couple high-end restaurant scenes," West-Chamberlain said.

Classic Diamond is made with NY State diamond grapes; it is described as "a refreshingly sweet" award-winning white wine. Black Willow has won over 75 international awards for its wines.
