ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
TOWN OF LOCKPORT — Niagara County Sheriff's deputies charged a 16-year-old Birchwood Drive male with possession of a hypodermic instrument Tuesday evening.
According to the NCSO report, deputies were dispatched to the home to retrieve recovered property — a hypodermic needle and a spoon purportedly used to cook and inject heroin. Patrol secured the hypodermic instrument in a sharps container, and the spoon in an evidence bag.
While leaving, patrol came across the teenager who identified himself to patrol as the owner of the recovered items. He was taken into custody by NCSO and turned over to Buffalo police on an active warrant out of the City of Buffalo.
He is due in the Town of Lockport Court on Feb. 26. Patrol secured the hypodermic instrument and the metal spoon into the evidence lockers at NCSO, and requested that both items be tested for the presence of narcotics. Further charges are possible pending the outcome of the lab results.
