ENP STAFF REPORTS

BUFFALO — Scoring two goals on every 10 shots you take is a pretty decent percentage. But when you only take 10 shots in a game, it won't lead to a decent winning percentage.
The Buffalo Sabres found that out the hard way as they lost Sunday to the visiting New York Islanders by a score of 3-2.
The Islanders scored the game's first three goals on shots by Colin McDonald at 16:19 of the first period, Anders Lee at 10:20 of the second, and Mikhail Grabovski at 11:22 of the second. The Sabres tried a comeback with goals by Marcus Foligno and Drew Stafford at 12:33 and 14:57 of the second period, respectively.
With the loss, the Sabres are now 16-35-3 on the year, putting them squarely at the bottom of the league.
The Blue & Gold play again Tuesday when the Ottawa Senators come to town.
