More than half the Radio Shack stores are closing in the state of New York, but the South Transit Road, Lockport location is not.
The company announced that it will sell 1,500 to 2,400 stores to its largest shareholder, investment firm Standard General, and has filed a motion to proceed with closing the remainder of its 4,000 U.S. stores by March 31.
Local stores closing include the a store in Depew; Alberta Drive, Amherst; and the Galleria Mall store in Cheektowaga. Several stores in the Rochester area are also planned to be closed.
