TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A 49-year-old Penfield man was charged Friday with aggravated driving while intoxicated by New York State Police.
Erik W. Hamalainen was found by Troopers in his vehicle stopped in the parking lot of a local church after Niagara County Sheriff Dispatch had received several calls of an erratic driver on SR 78, heading into Niagara County.
While interviewing Hamalainen, he experienced difficulty and could not comply with or complete any standardized field sobriety tests and he was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to SP Lockport for processing with a BAC of .24 percent, according to police records.
