Barker, Lockport, Newfane and Roy-Hart schools are all closed today due to unsafe weather conditions as the snow continues to pile up on East Niagara.
As much as seven inches is expected to fall by this evening. While plows are out and roads are passable, a number of vehicles found their way into ditches with mother nature's help.
Aside from the four local school districts, also closed today are:
- Barker Chocolate Box
- Barker Free Library
- Christian Acadamy of WNY
- Cornerstone CFCU Arena (no public skate at 11:30 a.m.)
- The Dale Association
- DeSales Catholic School
- Diane's School of Dance
- Dyan Mulvey Dance Academhy
- Flips Gymnastics
- Good Neighbor Redemption Center
- Karma Graphics
- Kenan Center
- Lockport Meals on Wheels
- Lockport Public Library (closing at 5 p.m.)
- Newfane ABCD
- Newfane Library
- Niagara County Headstart
- Opportunities Unlimited of Niagara (staff to report)
- Orleans-Niagara BOCES
- Rural Niagara Transportation
- Sylvia's School of Dance
- Terrys Corners Volunteer Fire Co. - Bingo cancelled
- USA Self Defense Centers
- YMCA School-Age Child Care, Preschool Pals and Youth Programs
