ENP STAFF REPORTS
news@eastniagarapost.com
TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A Robinson Road woman told Niagara County Sheriff's deputies that someone attempted to cash a check from her account at Citizens Bank.
The woman said that she had received a letter from the bank stating that an unknown person tried to cash the check, written for $4,000 on a series of checks that she had reported stolen from her mailbox in October.
The woman said she was under the impression that the allotment of checks couldn't be used, but the bank had attempted to cash it. It was denied due to insufficient funds.
The woman is not missing any money and there are no other unauthorized charges to her account. The case is closed pending further information.
