Niagara Hospice was recently honored at the WNY Paralegal Association's holiday luncheon hosted at Pearl Street Grill & Brewery.

Selected as one of the two recipients of the WNY Paralegal Association's annual award, Niagara Hospice was recognized as a charity close to the hearts of the association because of its care of patients and families throughout Niagara County.

WNY Paralegal Association member and Niagara Hospice supporter, Carol Hromowyk nominated Niagara Hospice after they helped care for her father at his home in North Tonawanda.

"Not only did Niagara Hospice help make my dad's wish to stay at home come true, they helped support both me and my sister as we cared for him," Hromowyk said. "We couldn't have done it without Hospice."

Not only did the WNY Paralegal Association recognize Niagara Hospice's work, they made a generous cash donation, collected gift cards, and held a 50/50 raffle to benefit Niagara Hospice.

Development Director Brendan McIntyre said, "The generosity of the WNY Paralegal Association is greatly appreciated and will directly benefit the patients and families we serve."

Niagara Hospice has provided end-of-life comfort, care and support since 1988 to over 20,000 Niagara County individuals and families faced with serious illness. No one is ever denied hospice care due to inability to pay thanks to the Niagara Hospice Alliance that raises funds to help offset costs for individuals who are under insured.
