CALGARY — The Buffalo Sabres scored first, but the Calgary Flames scored often.

In their first game following the NHL All-Star break, the Sabres fell 4-1 to the Flames.

Chris Stewart started the scoring for the Blue & Gold at 10:33 of the first period, assisted by Tyler Ennis and Tyler Myers. Three minutes and seven seconds later, Calgary tied it on the power play. The Johnny Gaudreau goal was assisted by Jiri Hudler and Mark Giordano.

Following a scoreless second, Josh Jooris put the Flames up 2-1 at 9:05 of the third period, assisted by Joe Colborne. Colborne netted his own goal at 14:06, assisted by Raphael Diaz and TJ Brodie. Gaudreau closed out the scoring at 17:28 with help from Hudler and Sean Monahan.

The Sabres next play the Oilers in Edmonton Thursday at 9:30 p.m. Eastern time.
