ENP STAFF REPORTS

TOWN OF LOCKPORT — A Heather Drive man told Niagara County Sheriff's deputies on Wednesday that someone had stolen his credit card number.
The man told patrol that an unknown person had called him from an unknown phone and told him that he was randomly selected for a $100 voucher for anywhere he chose. The person on the other end of the phone asked for the complainant's debit card number and three digit security code on the rear of the card to complete the transaction. The Heather Drive man complied. Then the person hung up.
Patrol checked the complainant's call history on his caller ID in an attempt to obtain a possible phone number, but was unable to do so. Patrol advised the man to contact his bank, explain the situation and cancel the debit card.
