NEWFANE — A West Avenue woman told Niagara County Sheriff's deputies on Tuesday that an acquaintance of hers stole $46.61 worth of groceries Monday night.

The woman said she does not have a car and needed to go grocery shopping Monday. She said a friend of hers stopped by and offered to give her a ride to the store. After the woman got her groceries from Aldi in Lockport, the friend took the woman to a friend's house — and then drove away with the groceries.

As of the filing of the report, the friend had not returned the groceries.

The woman told patrol she does not have the man's last name, phone number or address. She said he drives a four-door red pick up truck with rust on it and lives somewhere in Middleport. Patrol advised the woman to call NCSO if she is able to find out any more information about the man.
