Lucia Kathryn Badger, of Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, died peacefully surrounded by loved ones, Sunday, November 23, 2014, after a brief illness. She was 64.
Born to the late George W. and Rosemary Gaffney Badger in Lockport, NY, she was a beloved classroom teacher and math and reading specialist at the Manville School, Judge Baker Children’s Center, Boston, Massachusetts. Ms. Badger was a graduate of DeSales Catholic High School, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Emmanuel College, a Master of Education degree in Special Education from Wheelock College and a Master of Education degree in Reading from Simmons College.
She is survived by her sisters, Margaret (Raymond) Magno and Kristin (Gerald) Badger-Bach; her brother, James (Alison) Badger; nieces Victoria (Roland) Grap, Christine (Mark) Frieze, Jennifer D. Magno, Elizabeth (Christian) Barnes; nephews Jonathan (Timmie) Mitten, Jedidiah (Kristen) Mitten, and nine great nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services were held at the convenience of the family. Remembrances may be made to the Manville School Children’s Fund, Judge Baker Children’s Center, 53 Parker Hill Avenue, Boston, MA 02120.
