Chris Smith has been appointed as assistant executive director of the Grigg-Lewis Foundation.
Smith "has grown with the Foundation since 2002 when they first opened its Lockport office," according to a press release issued Tuesday. "This promotion reflects her experience, genuine interest and knowledge of programs in the Lockport area. She will continue to work with area not-for- profits in serving the community and continue to provide assistance in proposal review. Along with many new duties, Chris will concentrate on the impact of projects relating to the Foundations grant making. She looks forward to continuing the relationships she has built in the community over the past 12 years."
Smith lives in Newfane with her husband, Jeff Smith and her children, Madeline and Jacob Taylor and Lauren Smith.
"Chris hopes to follow the Grigg-Lewis Foundation’s founder, Henrietta Lewis’s example of making our community a better place to live, work and play though the Foundations philanthropic efforts," the press release says.
"The Foundation is proud to have served the community since 1968 by providing financial support and guidance to our area not for profits and the community of Lockport," the press release states.
