Tradition may dictate that Christmas decorations go up after Thanksgiving but many people took advantage of today's warm weather to put up holiday decorations today, including at the Palace Theatre and City Hall, where preparations are underway for Saturday's Christmas on the Canal, an all-day event taking place at locations around the downtown area.

City workers put up decorations on the south side of 1 Locks Plaza this afternoon.
