Lydia A. Aikin entered into rest November 22, 2014, peacefully with her sons at her side to be with her Lord in Arcadia, Florida. Born May 11th, 1931, in Lockport, New York. She was the daughter of Pasquale and Candida (Contestibile) DiBernardo.
Lydia was predeceased by her beloved husband, Herbert R. Aikin, Jr. July 21, 1995. They were married March 17, 1949. She was the beloved mother of Herbert R. Aikin III, Timothy (Patty) Aikin, Jonathan Aikin (Kathy), Christopher (Barbara) Aikin, and Thomas (Lori) Aikin. Cherished grandmother of Herbert (IV), Angela, Felicity, Victor, Sarah, Katrina, Andrew, Amanda, Daniel, Megan, and Tabitha. Dear sister of late Mary (Peter) Enzinna and the late Felice DiBernardo. Dear sister-in-law of Antoinette DiBernardo. Also survived by great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Lydia retired from R. J. Reynolds and the DeSoto County School System. She will be sadly missed at the Arcadia Moose as an active member where she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed her service to Catholic Charities for many years.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. John's R.C. Church Chestnut Street December 6, 2014 at 12 Noon. Internment at Wrights Corners Cemetery. Arrangement by Taylor & Reynolds Funeral Home, corner of Transit & Niagara Sts.
