ENP STAFF REPORTS

Lake Effect Ice Cream has announced its holiday flavors and pickup times for its annual holiday pint sale.

According to the artisan ice cream company's Facebook page, the sale will take place online with pickup taking place 4-8 p.m. Dec. 18, 5-9 p.m. Dec. 19, and 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Dec. 20.

The flavors, as described by the ice cream shop itself, are as follows:
Flavor #1 -The Nog
I can not tell you how many requests we have had to bring back our Egg Nog ice cream. So we went back to the drawing board and totally rebuilt our recipe. It starts with a mixture of extra sweet cream, fresh nutmeg and Vietnamese Cinnamon, and is then blended with Bulleit Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey. We then let the mixture sit, allowing the flavors to absorb into the cream. At the end, we add just a hint of spiced rum to give it a little extra "warmth-" something we can all use a little of this time of year!
Flavor #2 -S'mores and Hot Chocolate
This one is unbelievable. We started with hand toasted marshmallows and chocolate chunks... Then we called our friends at Platters to coat cinnamon and sugar dusted graham crackers with their amazing milk chocolate. Finally, we decided to go right over the top by swirling it all into our Frozen Hot Chocolate Ice Cream. This flavor is incredible, but you'll need to supply the campfire!
Flavor #3 -Chevre and Figgy Pudding
This flavor is our whole new take on figgy pudding. The ice cream we created for the core of this flavor is a unique, ultra-rich, chevre ice cream. The true star of this flavor, however, is our brown sugar and butter sauce that we blend together with freshly pureed black mission figs. What resulted is like nothing we have ever made and it's absolutely amazing!
Flavor #4 -Candy Cane Parfait
How can we make a new version of an old classic like peppermint ice cream? Well, here's what we did...
We first created a creamy and delicate peppermint cream ice cream and folded in small pieces of candy canes. We then crafted a house-made candy cane syrup to use in between the ice cream layers in each pint. All pints are packed parfait style with our syrup between the layers. Last, we top each pint with a dusting of crunchy candy cane pieces.
The holiday four packs are again $25 plus tax.
