Nearly 70 people participated Saturday in the Niagara County Deputy Sheriff's PBA 3rd Annual 5k Run to benefit the Niagara County Sheriff's Office Domestic Violence Unit.

The run, designed to bring more attention to domestic violence during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, started at Widewaters Marina. It included the 5K, a kids fun run, t-shirts for runners, food, music and prizes.

With a time of 0:16:49, Justin Weldon was the first to cross the finish line. Jim Schuler was second at 0:18:07, followed by Kyle Hall of Lockport at 0:19:10. Jamie Achtyl was the first female to finish, with a time of 0:21:13.
