TOWN OF LOCKPORT — An Ohio Street couple went to Tops early this morning to return some cans. When they exited the store, however, they found that someone had stolen their bikes.

According to a report filed with the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, a 49-year-old man told them that he and a 46-year-old woman had locked their bikes — a pink and black Next power climber and a blue Schwin — together with a pull cart around 2 a.m. and left them on the north side of the entrance. When they came out of the store around 2:26 a.m., both the bikes were gone.

Patrol checked the immediate area with negative results, then transported the pair back to their residence. Patrol requested any security footage that might be available from Tops in an attempt to identify the unknown suspect or suspects.
